Category Manager - Walmart Salty Snack and Nutritious Foods

Key Functional Imperatives:

  • Lead category management and insights for sales initiatives for the PepsiCo Salty Snack and Nutritious Foods portfolio at Walmart.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with National Account Sales Managers and Directors through objective detailed analysis, insight development and presentation.
  • Provide Insights to Sales team members based on emerging shopper, category, and market trends.
  • Support team by utilizing PepsiCo capabilities to deliver granular, store level geographical recommendations on assortment, promotional and merchandising opportunities.
  • Ensure continual training and development for field selling personnel to enhance business knowledge and analytical skills.
  • Communicate insights and project results to divisional and corporate personnel, as well as with other Category Management team members.
  • Assist Insights and Data Mining team by providing direction on customer and category needs, and data expertise with Retail Link and IRI's syndicated Scan and Panel data.
  • Conduct detailed analysis and reporting, utilizing the appropriate information tools/resources.
  • Maintain frequent, clear and open communication with functional and teams regarding projects, insights and/or company issues.


  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or Master's degree preferred
  • 5+ years' experience in analyzing and interpreting data and team/project management experience
  • 3-5 years of category management experience
  • Strong leadership skills: ability to influence activities of individual team members towards goals
  • Strong analytical skills: ability to link strategies and objectives to develop a plan
  • Excellent communication skills: ability to send and receive information clearly and concisely
  • Strong teamwork skills: possess exceptional group facilitation skills
  • Strong planning/organizing skills: capable of managing major projects simultaneously
  • Able to establish and attain high standards for self and team; able to make decisions and solve problems
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
