Seeking an exceptional Catering Manager 3 for long tenured account!


Sodexo Universities Dining has an opportunity for an exceptional Catering Manager 3 for Cabrini College located in Radnor, PA.  Cabrini College is a Small private college on Philadelphia's Main Line.  Campus food operations includes resident dining, retail dining, and high volume catering. 


As the Manager of Catering, you will be overseeing a high-end upscale catering program, overseeing the day-to-day catering scheduling/technical delivery of all catering.  In this position, you will be charged with creating casual, elegant and sophisticated catering experiences that exceed culinary and service expectations while enhancing client program objectives. The Catering Manager oversees a catering supervisor, catering chef and one full-time catering employee in a union environment and up to 15 catering (on-call) associates.  At times this position will also assist in board operations and Front of the House associates.


Reporting to the General Manager, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Catering management experience (full event life-cycle), within a high-volume campus dining setting or hotel setting preferred;
  • Proven ability to build/mentor a solid team that s your level of commitment and passion for exceptional catering;
  • Proven experience in labor management and control systems;
  • Client satisfaction skills; professional demeanor; excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to multi-task and delegate to coordinate multiple events and utilize a systems-based approach to meet each event’s timelines/specifications and quality of product.

Position Summary

Oversight of catering activities for a medium to large size location/unit with less than $1.5M in managed catering volume. Complex events with a high degree of hands on involvement in catering solutions.  Large amount of high profile events. Strong client interaction.
Key Duties
- Oversight of Sodexo resources, recipes, systems and use of catering programs to direct daily catering events including; food production, inventory, product deliveries, invoices, and procurement operations.
- Oversight of the sales process for catering and/or conference services. Works with client and customers to design events.
- Ensures employees have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources to perform their job, and meet goals, cost controls and deadlines as assigned.
- Establishes and maintains a safe work environment including both food and physical safety in order to comply with all regulatory and Sodexo standards in various environments. Drives the Zero Harm mindset.
- Complies with budget requirements by controlling costs (i.e. labor, inventory, equipment, materials) and making adjustments when necessary
- Supervises employees by delegating, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring operating standards



Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
