Sodexo Corporate Services North America is seeking an experienced Catering Manager  for our premier, upscale client Cargill located in Wayzata MN.

 

The ideal candidate will have excellent client and customer service skills, be able to multi-task, detail orientated lead by example and direct employees in a fast-paced environment. There is daily contact with clients.  This unit will cater multiple events at the same time in different locations on multiple campuses. High quality and excellent customer service is a primary focus. Rare opportunity Monday to Friday in the Hospitality Industry in a Corporate environment. All National Holidays are OFF! seeking for a Catering Manager with Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to recognize and solve challenges in timely manner and to customer satisfaction.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong catering experience 3-5 years in a catering environment including solid financial acumen and deep understanding of the technical delivery aspect of catering)
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills to juggle different tasks and events at one time
  • Ability to build and mentor a solid catering team who same level commitment and passion to catering: quality presentation, customer service, professionalism
  • Ability to multi-task and delegate to coordinate multiple events at a time and utilize a systems-based approach to meet each event’s time-lines/specifications and quality of product
  • Strong writing, costing, menu development and pricing skills
  • Fine dining exp, upscale catering, attention to detail, client interaction 
  • High level Customer services
  • Team Builder, able to develop talent

Position Summary

Oversight of catering activities for a medium to large size location/unit with less than $1.5M in managed catering volume. Complex events with a high degree of hands on involvement in catering solutions.  Large amount of high profile events. Strong client interaction.
Key Duties
- Oversight of Sodexo resources, recipes, systems and use of catering programs to direct daily catering events including; food production, inventory, product deliveries, invoices, and procurement operations.
- Oversight of the sales process for catering and/or conference services. Works with client and customers to design events.
- Ensures employees have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources to perform their job, and meet goals, cost controls and deadlines as assigned.
- Establishes and maintains a safe work environment including both food and physical safety in order to comply with all regulatory and Sodexo standards in various environments. Drives the Zero Harm mindset.
- Complies with budget requirements by controlling costs (i.e. labor, inventory, equipment, materials) and making adjustments when necessary
- Supervises employees by delegating, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring operating standards
 

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
