Hickory Trail Hospital, a 86-bed behavioral health facility located just south of Dallas, has been providing quality health care to the residents of DFW since 1988. Hickory Trail Hospital provides inpatient and day treatment for children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults. Our professional staff individualizes care to uniquely fit the intensity and severity of each client's case and their family's needs. Because crisis occurs at all times of the day and night, our services are provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Under the supervision of the Director of Medical Records, this position takes care of release of information, and performs duties to include but not limited to: chart assembly and analysis, coding, filing, and physician notification of delinquent records. Must possess knowledge of medical terminology, along with expertise in medical transcription.  Requires effective communication and interpersonal actions with the ability to follow instructions, yet perform under stress in a productive, independent manner. Competency at locating and routing all incomplete medical records to the individual responsible for completing the record. Competency with typing; computer literate and detailed recordkeeping, including confidential and healthcare information. Skill sets to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. Ability to work in behavioral health environment and observe the standards of care needed for patients.

Job Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of one (1) years’ experience, with knowledge of medical records and medical terminology, and an understanding of the clinical information environment.  Successful completion of Crisis Management Training and Service Excellence training within 90 days of employment. PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: RHIT
