Job Description

Parkwood Behavioral Health System has provided behavioral health and chemical dependency services to the Mid-South region since 1987. We are located in DeSoto County, in the uppermost northwest corner of Mississippi and approximately 7 miles south of Memphis.

Parkwood Behavioral Health System includes a 148-bed inpatient acute and residential care facility, as well as partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs.

Certified Nursing Assistant

We are currently seeking a full-time Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care on our Older Adult Unit under the supervision of the charge nurse. Responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention and assistance with activities of daily living. Staff must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including male and female children, adolescents and adults as well as dually diagnosed adults.

Job Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description.  The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position.    In absence of these qualifications upon hire, must demonstrate ability to learn these concepts and develop these skills within reasonable time frame via the organization’s orientation and training program.

Education:   Must complete approved CNA Training Program

Experience:   One year prior psychiatric or nursing experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification:  Must be certified by the State of Mississippi or multi-state certified

 

Knowledge:  Knowledge of human behavior or principles of psychology preferred including therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and crisis and behavior management.
