Havenwyck Hospital is a 243 bed, Joint Commission accredited and licensed psychiatric and substance abuse facility overlooking Lake Galloway in Auburn Hills, Michigan. We specialize in providing behavioral health and substance abuse services to children, adolescents, and adults.  Havenwyck Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Charge Nurse to join our Adult Unit. 

 

The Charge Nurse is responsible for quality nursing care and the overall supervision of the night shift nursing staff on the Adult Unit. The Charge Nurse must possess the skills necessary to lead, oversee and direct the nursing staff.  This position serves as a role model for safe, quality nursing care and Service Excellence.  Duties include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Adjust staffing as needed to ensure proper coverage according to designates staff/patient ratios in collaboration with Clinical Nurse Manager.  This position is responsible for personally covering a shift if adequate staffing cannot be found.
  • Monitors and evaluates nursing care given. 
  • Participates with the Clinical Nurse Manager and other nursing managers in the development of therapeutic programs for the unit. 
  • Participates in orientation program for new employees and in-service education for shift employees when needed. 
  • Serves as a preceptor for new employees, or coordinates orientation with the preceptor designated by the Clinical Nurse Manager.
  • Receives the intake information and verifies the admission with the physician and Intake Referral Coordinator.

 

A $4,000.00 sign on bonus available for qualified newly hired candidates. A 24 month commitment is required.



 
Requirements

 

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing required.
  • Associates degree in nursing required, Bachelors degree in nursing preferred.
  • Valid RN license in the State of Michigan required.
  • Nursing experience in the behavioral health field preferred.
  • Employees must be in good standing (employment/corrective action history, evaluation, etc.) to be considered for internal transfers.
