Sodexo’s partnership started with the University of Denver in 1994. DU offers an exciting and vibrant environment where Sodexo’s best managers learn and grow with our organization. We have an opening for an experienced Chef Manager for a very busy campus resident dining program. This individual will lead a dedicated work force in providing high quality and diverse services on a very busy campus. Responsibilities will be to assist with dinner production and service and manage the evening late night meal Monday-Thursday, and assist on Sunday with brunch and dinner. Best qualified Candidate will have a culinary degree from an accredited institution, culinary experience, preferably on a college or university, financial acumen, commitment to sustainability, creative approach that has no boundaries to improving our program, dedication to providing the highest level of service to our guests and excellent client relation skills. A proactive hands-on approach that is able to set standards and follow through on meeting those expectations. Responsibilities will include: Food production, inventory, training and development of team, performance monitoring, safety / sanitation, trouble shooting, cost controls, labor management, and active participation in improving our delivery through customer service.

We are looking for candidates who will:

  • manage the daily food production including production planning and controls;
  • ensure Sodexo Culinary Standards including recipe compliance and food quality;
  • manage food costing, controls and compliance;
  • develop menus and manage inventory;
  • have high expectations for customer service and quality of food;
  • have the ability and willingness to develop and train frontline employees;
  • have a passion for food and innovation;
  • have knowledge of special diets and allergens; and
  • knowledge of Sodexo Food Management System (FMS) is preferred.

 

The ideal candidate has:

  • a strong culinary background, with the demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends;
  • excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of standards and implements company policies;
  • previous experience working in a high volume facility; and
  • strong management skills.
