    Chef Manager opportunity for a 13 Week Summer Camp; Starts Monday, June 4th – Friday, August 31, 2018 with meals and living accommodations

     

    Job #71656 - Sodexo is seeking a Chef Manager for the summer Camp Gorham in Eagle Bay, New York.  Camp Gorham is located on 1,500 acres in the West Central Adirondacks; 60 miles northeast of Utica, offering children & families the ideal location to unplug & connect. 

     

    This is a thirteen-week position overseeing meal preparation for 3 meals per day; 450-900 meals, depending on the number of campers and counselors each week.  This position will be the senior point of contact for Sodexo Services onsite and will have a Sodexo Cook on staff.

     

    In this role, you plan the menus, order supplies, manage food production and service, monitor HACCP standards for food safety and sanitation, and support a kitchen staff provided by the client to prepare the meals and delivery to the main dining room outside of the kitchen. 

     

    Skills Checklist for this opportunity;

    Cooking background, Servsafe Certification

    Management skills to oversee one cook & kitchen staff

    Experience with food ordering and meal production

    Working knowledge of HACCP protocols for regulatory compliance

    Passion for the outdoors in a Youth Camp setting

    Some weekends and holidays are required.

     

    Position reports to the District Manager and could grow into a permanent traveling position with Sodexo based upon performance.

    Responsible for the day to day execution of the menus & culinary deliverables.  May be responsible for smaller units within a multi-location.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
    Basic Management Experience - 1 year
