Position Summary:

The Clinical Director mentors therapists and direct care workers.  Monitors trends, legislation and regulations that are relevant to the program’s mission and makes program and advocacy recommendations to the Administrator and committees.  Provides orientation and ongoing on-the-job training to assigned staff.   Provides timely consultation and feedback to program staff.  Documentation reflects professional standards. Assures patient’s rights; acts to prevent, identify, and report abuse.  Checks documentation of inpatient therapists to assure standards are met.

Develops, directs and implements public relations and communication strategies to support targeted clinical, financial, and performance improvement goals and increase positive community awareness of program.  Collaborates with professional contacts, neighborhood groups and businesses, service providers, regulatory agency liaisons to strengthen and expand professional relationships and business development.  Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Provides effective leadership and works well with others in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation.  Adjusts communication to meet the cultural, educational, diagnostic and/or age specific of individuals.  Maintains therapeutic boundaries. Interact therapeutically with patients, observes behaviors and communicate significant observations to nursing staff.  Maintains a professional demeanor, positive attitude, and engages in constructive interactions.  Treats others with respect.  Demonstrates ability to lead, collaborate and compromise. Accepts constructive feedback regarding performance.  Provides constructive feedback to coworkers and new staff. Act as role model.  Demonstrates leadership and initiative.

Maintains continuing education and personal development appropriate for position. Attends relevant training, community functions, and organizational meetings.   Maintains required certifications. Takes initiative to assure quality service delivery, identify concerns and potential opportunities for growth. Demonstrates flexibility in meeting organizational needs. Maintains general expectations.  Actively guides and supports facility mission and program philosophy.  Provides coverage as needed.  Performs other duties as assigned.

 
Requirements

Education/Training:
Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Professional Counseling.

Licensure/Certification:
Current Oklahoma licensure (LMSW, LCSW, LMFT, LBP, LPC). Current Oklahoma Driver’s License (Required for staff on Driver’s List)

Experience:
Five years administrative and/or clinical leadership experience in a behavioral health or hospital treatment setting with children and adolescents.
