Position Title: Claims Examiner

Job Location: Pennsylvania-Scranton

The Claims Team processes a variety of high volume transactions, which include pension quotes and payments to promote a seamless experience to our annuitants with their accuracy and timeliness.  The responsibilities include: 

  • Review incoming requests and research, interpret and calculate benefits according to contractual provisions, federal and state regulations and procedures.

  • Request missing information from Prudential annuitants and clients

  • Review benefit paperwork for accuracy and completeness

  • Verify and update plan and annuitant records

  • Assist in daily workflow activities to ensure timely completion of cases

  • Build relationships with other business partners

  • May participate in special projects as needed

  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives


  • BS degree or minimum of 1-2 years of equivalent work experience

  • Experience within a transaction processing environment where quality and productivity standards need to be met is a plus

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong mathematical/analytical skills

  • Flexibility to work overtime when required

  • Strong decision making/problem solving skills

  • "Can Do" attitude

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Flexible, proactive and able to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Works both independently and as a team player

  • Computer proficient - accurate keying skills and Microsoft office skills, specifically Excel and Word
