Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform evaluations of escalated provider issues
  • Perform resolution on single and complex work types
  • Perform deep-dive analyses to identify root cause failures and develop remediation action plans for escalated provider issues
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures based upon line of business and issue type
  • Act as the point of contact for escalated provider issues, providing end-to-end provider service
  • Track and monitor multiple on-going cases for status and resolution that are assigned to their queue
  • Raise awareness of observed trends to appropriate party
  • Utilize reporting tools and tracking system to prioritize and update the status on issues being worked 
  • Navigate system/applications to identify obstacles to claim payment
  • Collaborate with internal and external business partners to identify innovative solutions for resolving escalated provider issues and to decrease the overall number of escalated provider issues in each FAST market
  • Engage in predictive analytics to prevent system and other claim-related issues from impacting providers
  • Build trust with providers by communicating issue resolution progress from start to finish, and by providing updates on resolution plans and implementation schedules
  • Ensure end-to-end provider service satisfaction for a variety of service issues across all lines of business at UHG

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or 3+ additional years of related work experience

  • 1+ years of experience in commercial claim payments or adjustments

  • 2+ years of experience in UNET and/or ISET

  • Intermediate or higher level of proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Customer service experience

  • Experience with provider practices, billings, and revenue cycles

  • Working knowledge of relational databases, database structures

  • Working knowledge of NDB

  • Demonstrated process improvement, workflow, benchmarking and / or evaluation of business processes required

  • Excellent communication, time/project management, problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills
