Job Summary:

The Manager of Carrier Assimilation is responsible for the full life cycle relationship of our 13,500+ carrier network across both of our Cox Automotive Logistics brands, Ready Logistics and Central Dispatch.  The Manager will have oversight for carrier communication, registration and onboarding, training and assimilation, performance tracking and management, mobile technology, and compliance.  The Manager is accountable for ensuring the Carrier Assimilation team is meeting carrier and client expectations, creating and maintaining a high performance standard, continuous process improvement, and supporting our strategic objectives. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

•Provide direction and objectives to ensure the carrier experience is aligned with overall Cox Automotive Logistics goals, and both brand missions – Ready Logistics and Central Dispatch 

•Create and maintain a high performance culture that reflects our values and standards and promotes a carrier network that is an extension of our team and culture

•Continuously reinvent the team structure to ensure that the processes, roles and responsibilities of the team are properly balanced and leveraged between both brands

•Lead the Carrier Relations team of approximately 12 team members to include mentoring, coaching, performance management, and career mapping

•Optimize all processes and introduce automation everywhere possible to ensure scalability by leveraging best practices form both brands to create a mutual carrier experience

•Responsible for communicating internally and externally to ensure alignment between departments and our carrier network regarding critical compliance matters, operational processes, industry awareness, etc.

•Increase carrier utilization for both Ready Logistics and Central Dispatch by continuously monitoring KPIs and metrics to drive a high performing and compliant carrier network and ensuring that our processes and systems support our objectives

•Maintain our carrier policy current and ensure frequent communication to our team as well as our carrier network

•Enforce and monitor our compliance standards and ensure that the processes, communication, awareness, and mitigation plans are robust and timely

•Ensure that all carriers are properly registered, credentialed, and insured per our compliance policy and protocol

•Review work volumes, continuously monitor staffing levels to ensure efficiency and quality work product, and effective customer service; review departmental performance against key performance indicators and metrics and develop and execute strategies for improvement

•Effectively lead the team by setting an example in behavior, championing Cox Automotive values and ensuring that all employees are treated with respect

•Coordinate department activities with customer account representatives and transporters.  Interact with clients and resolve problems that may occur in the transportation process

•Maintain communication with other departments and management team providing relevant information to coordinate activities of the departments and ensure high quality of service to both internal and external customers.

•Provide outstanding customer service and resolve problems effectively and timely

•Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such. Work in cooperation with safety leadership in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.Monitor performance to client SLAs and SOPMaintain regular communication with clients to ensure satisfaction

•Perform other duties as assigned by management


Skills and Experience Required:


•5 years’ experience preferred as an administrative and/or operations manager in the transportation or trucking industry

•Auction experience and knowledge of overall Auction functions preferred

•Strong communication skills and ability to interact at all levels of the organization required

•Excellent organizational skills

•Flexible work hours, as position requires occasional evening and weekend hours.

•Excellent computer skills preferred including MS Outlook/Excel/Word

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills

•High sense of urgency

•Ability to handle pressure, stress and change effectively
