Position Summary: Patient Account follow-up and financial counseling at time of service including communication with all parties who may have a bearing on account resolution, and verification of insurance coverage available at the time of service. Completes all appropriate transactions necessary for account resolution.

 
Requirements

Requires three years experience in the medical and/or billing field with primary focus in daily clinic billing and collection activities. Includes age patient account balance research, insurance verification and benefit package processes, and ability to structure acceptable payment arrangements with patients.

Must have basic understanding of healthcare terminology, third party payors, processes and work flow of patient accounting in order to make good decisions and resolve account issues.  Requires 10-key calculator, typing, on-line PC experience, and use of other office machines such as copier, fax, etc.  Requires outstanding people skills, including telephone technique, personal appearance, organizational skills, communication skills (oral and written), independent and self-motivated, flexible, analytic and arithmetic skills, and problem solving skills.
