As a
Clinical Coding Specialist, you will be predominantly involved in developing business solutions by creating new and modifying existing software applications. You will be a primary contributor in designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and supporting all types of applications consistent with established specifications and business requirements to deliver business value. This individual will be responsible for the development of ICD-10 coding Clinical Reference content which supports our encoder product components. Additionally the individual will author ICD-10 documentation guidelines which are also part of the encoder product components.

Positions in this function are predominantly involved in developing business solutions by creating new and modifying existing software applications. Primary contributor in designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and supporting all types of applications consistent with established specifications and business requirements to deliver business value. *Employees in jobs labeled with SCA must support a government Service Contract Act (SCA) agreement.

Primary Responsibilities: 
  • Design, implement and maintain .Net applications within all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Develop, test, implement and maintain application software working with established processes
  • Communicate effectively with other engineers and QA
  • Establish, refine and integrate development and test environment tools and software as needed
  • Identify production and non-production application issues
  • Identify opportunities to fine-tune and optimize applications of .Net developed projects
  • Provide technical support and consultation for .Net application and infrastructure questions
  • Serve as a mentor to less experienced developers
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of clinical references databases
  • Standard and internet based research to understand coding and reimbursement issues
  • Interpreting ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS coding conventions and guidelines
  • Interpreting CMS regulations
  • Respond to client inquiries and issues
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
