Millwood Hospital  is seeking a dynamic and talented Clinical Lead

The Clinical Lead: The Behavioral Health Connections, Inc. Clinical Lead has the responsibility for providing clinical oversight to Mobile Assessment Team Evaluators who assess patients in hospitals, nursing homes, and other facilities. The Clinical Lead will be required to be available to assist when necessary for day, evening, and overnight shifts and will be able to quickly respond to locations in the community. Will provide prompt response to patient and referral needs, provides clinical assessment, and assures appropriateness of risk assessment, crisis interventions and referral to level of care. Promotes patient care consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Behavioral Health Connections, Inc.   Clinical Lead will coordinate assessment and referral services and mobile assessments.  The Clinical Lead will assist Clinical Manager with monthly on-call scheduling, including back up and shadowing.  The Lead will attend weekly meetings with the Executive Director, Program Manager, and Clinical Manager as needed. Job duties will include assisting Clinical Manager with preparing and completing all monthly reports, and coordinating with the Clinical Manager in training assessment team evaluators.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

  1. Maintains good communication with the contracted ER’s and Hospitals, as well as the referred to psychiatric facilities, and other staff as indicated.

  2. Maintains log of received calls and disposition of the calls, and other informational tools as assigned.

  3. Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers, practicing good standards of
    customer service.

  4. Provide clinical supervision of the Mobile Assessment Team Evaluators and the Televideo Assessment Team Evaluators.

  5. Assists Clinical Manager with training of Mobile Assessment Team Evaluators and Televideo Assessmen Team Evaluators.

  6. When completing mental health assessments as an assessment evaluator, independently assesses mental health of patients in contracted emergency rooms and/or hospitals.

  7. When completing mental health assessments as an assessment evaluator, completes documentation related to the mental health assessment of patients.

  8. When completing mental health assessments as an assessment evaluator, determines potential of risk to patient and others based on individualized assessment.

  9. When completing mental health assessments as an assessment evaluator, provides Crisis Intervention for patients, as necessary.

  10. When completing mental health assessments as an assessment evaluator, relies upon clinical training and acumen to determine the most appropriate course of treatment/level of care for patient.

  11. When completing mental health assessments as an assessment evaluator, provides treating physician and ER Supervisor with level of care recommendation.

  12. When completing mental health assessments as an assessment evaluator, discusses patient’s status, history, and level of care recommendation with patient’s family members, if available.

  13. When completing mental health assessments as an assessment evaluator, counsels patients regarding recommended level of care; and provides at least three (3) referral choices to patient when the recommendation includes an inpatient/outpatient psychiatric/CD facility.

  14. When completing mental health assessments as an assessment evaluator, initiates commitment process if necessary.

  15. When completing mental health assessments as an assessment evaluator, initiates Memorandum Of Transfer process with ER RN/Director.

  16. When completing mental health assessments as an assessment evaluator, provides ER/hospital with copy of completed assessment form and recommendations.

  17. When completing mental health assessments as an assessment evaluator, tracks and submits list of patients seen, time of assessments and disposition of each matter to supervisor.

  18. Adheres to all BHC and hospital policies and procedures.

  19. Adheres to all hospital service excellence standards.

  20. Performs other duties, as assigned.

 

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each of the essential duties/primary responsibilities listed above.  The responsibilities listed above are representative of the knowledge, skills and ability required.  This position requires the skill and ability to assess patients’ needs for therapeutic services, calmly handle high-stress situations, and make appropriate recommendations.  The position requires in-depth knowledge and specialized training in mental and behavioral health issues, and it requires meticulous recordkeeping and documentation.

 

EDUCATION

Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Behavioral Health or related field.

 

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

Current license in the State of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor (“LPC”), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (“LMFT”), Licensed Master Social Worker (“LMSW”), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (“LCSW”), or Registered Nurse (“RN”).
