The Patient Financial Services Manager will be responsible for the overall AR management and aging. Responsible for the Posting Unit and Cashier Office, ensuring the accurate posting of accounts receivables both electronically and hard copy. The position will require solid analytical skills, account management & excellent technical knowledge of systems, understanding of both California & Federal claim laws, and thorough understanding of Managed Care contract language and application; include Division of Financial Responsibilities (DOFR). Must have strong appeal experience in denial management.
 
This position will be located onsite at Community Hospital of San Bernardino
Monday-Friday, days

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the day to day operations of the Patient Financial Services Department
  • Responsible for positive AR outcome
  • Must meet and/or exceed SLA metrics for Cash, AR Days, Credit Balances and aging >90 days
  • Billing Inventory includes: Acute Care, both In-Patient and Out-Patient Behavioral Health, both Adult and Pediatric Long Term Care
  • The position will review, assign & monitor accounts for appropriate work efforts and will maintain needed documentation and follow-up procedures to a foster a good working relationship with staffing. Must be willing to coach, counsel and mentor staffing to success
  • The position will require the ability to foster a positive collaborative relationship with peers within the Department and throughout the facility
  • The position will also participate in audits and compile data in time frame as requested and ensure accurate data is provided, substantiates changes and provides back-up
  • Monitor staff productively by routinely reviewing staff's daily stats and conduction QA of completed work
  • Monitor timeliness and completeness of tasks
  • Foster positive outcomes specific to Dignity Health Employee Engagement
  • Position in this function includes those responsible for management and administration of multiple Medical & Clinical Operations Functions, or managing general operations which are not specific to one of the functions in the Medical & Clinical Operations job family
  • Manages and is accountable for professional employees and/or supervisors
  • Impact of work is most often at the local level

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree OR High School Diploma/GED with 10 + years in relevant Hospital/Management experience
  • 5+ years of Hospital AR management
  • 5+ years UB04 claims experience
  • 5+ years Medicare, Medi-cal claims and PPO/HMO claims adjudication
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook)
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and local billing/accounting regulations
 Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of UNION laws/regulations for employee management
