As a Clinical Product Manager, you will conduct research and maintain or enhance clinical pharmacy programs. In this role you will also provide leadership in the development, management and relationships of our Network Pharmacies. As a part of the Clinical Programs, the Clinical Product Manager, is responsible for the strategy, development and maintenance of the OptumRx clinical product retail network relationship. You will be empowered to develop the strategy and vision for delivering OptumRx clinical products and services at the retail pharmacy level, product roadmaps, establishing collaborative relationships with external and internal stakeholders, gathering accurate requirements and evaluating product performance to enhance our mission of helping people live healthier lives.

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

Pharmacy:

  • Lead the relationship of our retail pharmacies (chain & PSAO) from a clinical program perspective
  • Implement new clinical programs at retail pharmacies
  • Monitor the performance of our retail pharmacies from a clinical program perspective
  • Oversee our retail pharmacy clinical program help desk
  • Assess and interpret pharmacy needs and requirements
  • Identify solutions to non - standard requests and problems
  • Coach, provide feedback and guide others; acts as a resource for others with less experience
  • Work with pharmacists and product managers to support clinical utilization programs

Program Management:

  • Ability to translate ideas into strategies, define plan for those strategies, and work cross-functionally to launch and execute on product development plans
  • Ability to interpret competitive intelligence, industry and market trends, and customer feedback and devise strategies and plans for product development opportunities
  • Adapt at developing sound development business cases and cost / benefit analyses to support product development efforts
  • Work directly across many departments and cross functional teams to design, develop and drive successful deployment of new and enhanced programs and services
  • Support the development of market and sales strategies and value proposition
  • Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address business and operational challenges
  • Manage cross - segment projects and initiatives that require problem solving, relationship building, influencing and analyzing
  • Works with leadership to determine appropriate success metrics with which available products will be evaluated

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of Product Management / Product Development
  • Knowledge of retail pharmacy industry
  • Ability to navigate MS Office and a Windows based environment and the ability to create, edit, save, and send documents utilizing Microsoft Word
  • Ability to navigate Outlook and conduct Internet searches
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Access
  • Experience conducting research and analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PharmD or Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy
  • PBM experience 
  • Pharmacy residency experience
  • Managed Care experience
  • Experience working with Pharmacy claims
