The Clinical Product Specialist is responsible for providing project management, business analysis, and administrative support for clinical product initiatives within OptumRx Clinical Product Management team.  This position will provide support on products such as Adherence Programs and other related clinical programs.  This role works collaboratively with department leadership, business owners, product directors, account teams, operations and IT to confirm project scope and requirements, assist in project prioritization, monitor and manage project progress and support project implementation, with the goal of driving clinically superior products and services that bring value to our client’s and the members we serve.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supporting product managers in the ongoing management of the products which may include operational and product management support
  • Integral part of the product development and management process by managing such tasks as tracking project timelines, estimating requirements, oversight of key product functions, quality monitoring of product operations and outcomes metrics
  • Work cross-functionally to execute process improvements and ensure accurate program documentation, such as P&L management, training materials, product plans, pricing and contracting, etc.
  • Assists in documenting product use cases, high-level functional descriptions and detailed specifications of product enhancements
  • Oversee the timely and accurate program reporting, which may involve quality control and auditing
  • Drives cross-functional teams to execute on tasks and deliverables; monitors progress on implementation and ongoing post-implementation monitoring
  • Develops a sense of urgency when key deliverables are jeopardized; Facilitates problem solving and meetings to address obstacles
  • Holds team members accountable to project commitments
  • Relies on team member expertise when faced with critical decisions
  • Facilitates communication to key stakeholders on project or product performance

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of experience in either Product or Project Management
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional team members in order to accurately deliver project outcomes
  • Superior time management skills and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong process improvement skills / experience
  • Ability to organize and thrive in a fast - paced environment and work with ambiguity
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervisory oversight

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare experience
  • Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) experience
  • High attention to detail with ability to manage multiple competing priorities
