What You'll Do

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the fastest growing business units of Cisco, that is focused on building next generation cloud platform. We are looking for those who strive in a fast paced start up like environment. We are looking for senior software engineers to improve the current cloud platform, in areas of Network, Compute, Storage, Bare Metal as a Service, Installers, and respective platform customization.

Who You'll Work With

You will be part of an experienced team working on next generation datacenter products. You will work in a very sophisticated development environment and will get plenty of opportunities to gain technical expertise in a number of areas related to the cloud management and workloads.

Who You Are

You've got extensive experience designing and implementing software systems. You are strong in software design and implementation, with experience on baremetal server management, networking and cloud workloads.

  • Do you have 5+ years direct, hands-on experience building IaaS Cloud Platform?
  • Software development background, including Open Source frameworks.
  • Versed in agile methodologies (SCRUM, etc.).
  • Minimum 5 years of Software and IP Networking experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with baremetal server management
  • Have coded extensively in Python; Exposure to Ansible working with Playbooks is helpful; Hands on experience with using docker containers to host application and offer services
  • At least 5 years of experience with Linux
  • Hands on Experience in working with Open-source community
  • BS Computer Science,
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Integration experience with network/system management applications

Desirable Skills:

  • Practical knowledge of building internet scale applications using Cloud Computing.
  • Knowledge of AWS, Docker, Openstack highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with datacenter architectures and the different flavors
  • Knowledgeable about Service Provider Network architectures
  • Exposure to NFV based solutions, SDN, Service Orchestration
  • Experience with Cloud Management technologies such as OpenStack
  • Excellent knowledge of Agile Methodologies with relevant experience in all phases of a Product Life Cycle

  • Independent, accountable, strong sense of ownership, assertive, communicative, accountable, sense of urgency, and flexible/adaptable

  • Ability to present to senior level executives both inside and outside the company
  • Ability to work independently with only minimal management oversight.
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills along with superior interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility in a fast paced, ever-changing, deadline-driven environment
