This position is part of a team responsible for administration of our external commission plans including system setup and maintenance, commission calculation and distribution, and commission research and reconciliation. Performs audit of commission control reporting. Analyzes producer commissions and resolves discrepancies.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and timely payment of commissions to external producers.  Process changes to agents’ payment accounts and Assignments of Commission. Reissue payments to agents upon request
  • Ensure accurate and timely payment of commissions related to commission payment inquiries.  Perform research on commission questions, resolve discrepancies, and communicate results to appropriate parties
  • Process changes to information in the commission system
  • Perform monthly control audit reports, communicate results timely and consistently
  • Interact via written and verbal communication with Sales Distribution Operations, Agent Onboarding, Sales leadership, Producer Help Desk, and Sales agents on commission status, issues and resolution
  • Maintain detailed, accurate, and organized records of commission research, calculations, payouts, and reconciling items
  • Coordinate cross functionally within and outside the Commission team to ensure commission payments occur at the correct times by communicating the business rules, plan administration and commission processing timelines
  • Draft commission procedures manual as needed
  • Assist co-workers with meeting the team’s daily production goals
  • Participate in special projects as assigned


Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in finance (or related field) or equivalent experience
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and implement sales commission plans and rate schedules
  • Ability to reconcile commission statements and resolve commission discrepancies
  • Ability to perform audit functions and maintain detailed documentation
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Access, Word)
  • Ability to learn other computer applications quickly
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with sales agents and other departments
  • Possesses written communication skills enabling independent handling of correspondence
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated customer service skills in a professional business environment
  • Tact, diplomacy and sensitivity to respect confidential information
  • Work schedule flexibility, including availability for overtime

Preferred Qualification

  • Previous experience with commission processes and systems
  • Previous experience with Medicare and/or the healthcare insurance industry
