**Position : Communications Manager**



**Global Job Level : 70**







**Brief Job Description and importance of the role :**







+ This role will be the single point of accountability for all internal and external communications.



+ Will be responsible for positive positioning of Pfizer through effective media relations. The role needs effective crisis and issue management from external media aspects. This position will provide strategic counsel to the Gulf leadership team and Brand Leads within the Gulf cluster.



+ The role will complement & support the strategic objectives for Corporate Affairs for Pfizer in the Gulf cluster.



+ This role will work closely with AFME Communications Lead .



**Deliverables and Key Accountabilities:**



(The main results the job holder is accountable for delivering)



1-Develop communication strategy, policies and plans for internal and external communications



Key task:







+ Prepare internal and external communications plan and policies.



+ Monitor success of the plan and recommend updates if required.



+ Provide guidance and support on crisis communication.



+ Provide direction on internal/external communication plans, speeches and presentations.



+ Provide comprehensive brand communication plan.







2-Campaigns and Communication materials:



Prepare written materials for various campaigns, maintain a range of publications to meet communication goals through bold partnership projects implemented by Pfizer :



Key Task:







+ Maintain robust database of journalist, Medical KOLs



+ Promote Pfizer's image and reputation and protect the corporate brand identity through various media initiatives



+ Prepare materials including brochure, posters, media release, newsletter, cds, promotional product, banners and internet text.







3-Issues Management:



Develop and implement communications strategies for key issues that affect Pfizer , its reputation and image



Key task:







+ Identify activities and events in the market/industry that are likely to become media issues - in a proactive manner.



+ Recommend strategies to manage the issues, including identifying appropriate responses and communication channel



+ Prepare the communication material.







4-Media Relations:



Maintain and develop links with local media to facilitate good communication and ensure fair and accurate coverage of Pfizer GLM and industry wide activities.



Key Tasks:







+ Maintain up-to-date list of all media contacts to be maintained on a monthly basis.



+ Meet with key media personnel on a bimonthly basis.



+ Respond to media queries after required approval.







5-Marketing and Communications Advice:



Provide communications advices to the marketing team and other enabling functions as required based on marketing and communication strategies.



Key Task:







+ Provide advice on appropriate marketing strategies, including positioning and marketing mix elements.



+ Provide advice on target audience and best way to communicate to them



+ Edit material from these functions as required.



+ Provide communication support for Pfizer's priority initiatives , global access, philanthropy initiatives, counterfeiting, intellectual property rights, other specific health care issues







6-Speeches and Event management:



Prepare speeches for Country Manager and other authorized spokesperson as required. Assist in the coordination of events



Key Task:







+ Research speech subject matter



+ Write speech



+ Assist in the coordination of events including guest list, invitation, venue, seating, catering, sound system, speeches, publicity etc



+ Provide advice to colleagues/ organizing committee on all the aspects related to the event.







**Job Specific Technical/Functional/Professional Competencies:**



Qualifications, Experience & Skills:







+ B.S. or B.A. in English, Communications or a related field. Graduate with a degree in Communications or a related discipline such as Journalism/PR, Media or relevant business qualification.



+ Minimum 3 years experience within the industry in developing and managing a broad range of communications projects.



+ Excellent written and oral communication skills.



+ Demonstrated skills in developing, managing and delivering communication strategies and plans in a large, complex organization.



+ Understanding of how to effectively use communications to influence internal and external audiences. Experience with a management of intranet or internet.



+ Able to work effectively across functions and levels; strong interpersonal and leadership skills.



+ Ability to align and integrate communication strategy with business strategy.



+ Candidates currently living in Dubai will be an asset .



+ Exceptional analytical, presentation and interpersonal skills.



+ Highly developed influencing and negotiating skills.



+ Strong analytical, planning, attention to detail, and prioritizing skills.



+ Customer-focused/led by stakeholder needs.



+ Ability to work to deadlines and maintain high levels of professionalism under pressure.



+ Experience in communications within the legal and/or healthcare/pharmaceutical sector preferred.
