What You'll Do

You’ll build and lead an integrated communications program for the North Theatre across both media and employees. You will develop and deliver on integrated communications campaigns for key influencers, working in partnership with all communications functions and business leaders across the business, including the North management team.

You will lead all communications in the Theatre as well as plan and execute Communications in some of the priority Northern European countries. You will be the virtual manager to the three North Theatre PR and Communications Managers. This position will report to the Leader of multi-country theatres within EMEAR Communications. This role will be based in one of the key Northern European countries, with a preference for Belgium. 

Some of your main responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Understanding and influencing audience perceptions, translating business goals into communications goals and crafting programmes that help position the company’s relevance and value, advance its thought leadership and innovation profile
  • Building high impact internal and external communications programmes that drive towards tangible results that change perceptions/behaviors.
  • Manage relations with traditional and social media
  • Work in true collaboration with individuals and teams to extract relevant information from multiple sources and blend into a range of communications
  • Socialise communications plans and platforms with multiple communications functions and key business leaders to advance message consistency and impact
  • Balance the requirements of being an active member of the EMEAR communications team and helping to drive the team’s joint success whilst driving the success of the country’s PR programmes
  • Virtually lead the North Theatre PR and Communications Team
  • Manage PR agencies in other Northern European countries

You will work closely with the North Theatre Lead, the North Board in which the General Managers of all Northern European countries are represented, as well as marketing, communications and other support functions and corporate communications teams to craft and drive outcome-based communications programs and will be accountable for measurable results. 

Cisco’s Northern European theatre includes the Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Norway & Iceland, Sweden), the Benelux (Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg) and Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania).

Who You Are

You understand Cisco’s story, its products, technologies, services & solutions. You know how to lead, plan, drive and execute employee communications and Public Relations campaigns aligned to both corporate and local business priorities. You use a strategic and creative approach to translate business priorities into compelling content that is relevant and engaging to a diverse audience. 

You definitely have experience in:

  • Employee Communications and PR – 10 to 15 years, from strategic planning to execution
  • Working in an international/multinational company, with many stakeholders, including executive level, consulting and partnering
  • PR agency and budget management
  • Working in an IT company (it is helpful, but not a requirement)
  • Preferably you are based in Brussels, have an understanding for and have experience working with European Union institutions

  • You have the ability to partner with and influence senior management – good executive presence, ability to be a trusted advisor and business partner.
  • You are an outstanding verbal/written communicator (you are able to tell and write stories)

  • You are able to exercise discretion when presented with sensitive information or confidential issues
