What You’ll Do

As a Communications Specialist in the Offices of Growth Initiatives and CEO, you will have the unique opportunity to cover the gamut of communications – with the chance to make a significant impact at Cisco. This role will help drive Cisco’s strategy to employees, customers and partners.

Specifically, you will be:

  • Creating briefing documents for internal and external meetings and other executive speaking engagements, in close partnership with relevant account and event teams
  • Researching topics, including relevant statistics and data, for use in content and messaging development (e.g., presentations, blogs, video scripts, emails, quotes, etc.)
  • Helping to construct industry-level keynotes and large-audience messaging frameworks
  • Guiding development cycles and revisions for graphics and video
  • Handling incoming speaking opportunities
  • Producing engaging slides on PowerPoint and Keynote
  • Building communications metrics and reporting documents mapped to the communications plan

You can work with some of the best people in Silicon Valley in the Offices of Growth Initiatives and CEO team. We are an agile team who works across the Executive Leadership Team and Functions to ensure Cisco leads in the new era of technology disruption. This team has an exciting and unique view into what’s happening and what’s next at Cisco – and the technology industry as a whole.

You will report to the Sr. Manager, Executive Communications who leads strategic communications for the team and executive communications for the VP of Growth Initiatives and Chief of Staff to the CEO. Day-to-day, you'll work alongside members of the Offices of CEO team who lead a variety of growth initiatives across the company. The team is focused, adaptable and always looking for fun and creative ideas. We use data and storytelling to communicate our strategy and initiatives to our employees and external audiences. In this role, you will also work with the CEO communications team, extended corporate communications team, marketing and sales teams.

Who You Are

You are very organized and pay attention to detail. You learn quickly and you are resourceful: you know where and who to go to for content and metrics, and if you don’t know, you figure it out quickly. You are comfortable working at the executive level, have the ability to form relationships and partner globally across all levels of the organization and are a collaborator. You are a strong writer. You have the aptitude to take technical subject matter and relay it in a digestible manner. You have superior editing and proofreading skills and are an expert in PowerPoint.

Minimum requirements:

  • 1-3 years communications experience in a business environment (internships count!)
  • BS in Marking, Communications or related field.
