Job Description

The Community Liaison provides Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service activities within the Marketing Department. Participates in the Account Management system, assessing the needs of the customer and making the required number of marketing contacts to each account, in order to develop and maintain a long-term referral relationship which will generate a continuous flow of admissions to meet hospital census objectives. Plans events, provides tours, performs referral source in-services, acts as a liaison between the Referral Source and the hospital, and seeks out new business development opportunities for the hospital.  Implements the philosophy, policy, procedures, systems and strategic goals set forth by the Director of Business Development team while maximizing referral potentials from assigned accounts, and developing new business to achieve the goals and objectives of the business development systems.::

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: A Bachelor's Degree in a behavioral health area, marketing, business administration, or related field   is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in health care business development/marketing             environment with measurable business development results, and knowledge of psychiatric and     chemical dependency treatment principles, preferred.

Licensure: Must have a valid driver's license.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


1. Consult with the DBD, and senior management staff, in overseeing, developing, and implementing facility marketing strategies.

2.  Develop new accounts and markets in the employer EAP, Primary Care Physicians/Licensed Practitioners and managed care segments, and as directed by the Director of Business Development.

3. Develop a designated number of qualified referral contacts per week, which will
achieve the overall business development goals and objectives.

4. Produce individual monthly, seasonal, and annual strategies for assigned territory and accounts.

5. Maintain a schedule of primary assigned accounts including business, industry, EAPs, managed care clients, physicians/licensed practitioners, and allied health professionals.

6. Continually evaluate the viability assigned accounts against market constraints and changes, and revise individual marketing plan as appropriate.

7. Maintain referral admission records and statistics, to support the preparation of individual productivity reports.

8. Develop and implement community workshops and seminars, held at the facility or in the community.

9.  Maintain an account management list to maintain current account information, and update as
 required.

10.  Actively participate with established community relationships in problem solving and works   
 with facility staff to assure issues are resolved with assigned referral sources.

11.  Contact all primary accounts through personal visits, telephone calls and letters/mailers on an

ongoing basis, developing and encouraging a relationship of trust with all active accounts.

12. Maintain current awareness of changes in the industry through self-education, peer education, and professional and community involvement for the betterment of this position and the facility.

13. Maintain a competition informational file and contribute to the ongoing SWOT analysis.

14. Promote the team concept within the Marketing Department and the facility.

15. Participate in the evaluation and analysis of Calls/Admissions statistics and provide recommendations to overall business planning strategies as appropriate.
16. Participate in the continuous analysis of the changing health care environment and regional health care market.
17. Attend scheduled department meetings to provide the Director with timely reports on weekly, month-end, and quarterly reviews, client servicing schedules, customer sales forms, and other reporting requirements.
18. Attend in-house planning and development committee meetings, as requested.

    11.          Ability to see well enough to read handwritten and typewritten materials.
