Job Description

Cumberland Hospital for Children and Adolescents, a 110 bed state licensed and Joint Commission accredited specialty rehabilitation hospital, is located on 98 acres of riverfront land between Richmond and Williamsburg, Virginia in New Kent County.  We provide specialized care for young people whose disabilities, injuries or lifelong illnesses are compounded by emotional and/or behavioral problems.  We are currently seeking a highly motivated, result oriented professional for the role of Full-Time Military/Business Development Liaison to market our specialty children’s services in VA, MD, DC, NC, SC and is subject to grow based on opportunity. Candidate needs to reside in VA, DC or Eastern NC.

Our Business Development Liaison uses professional selling and account management skills from given target markets to maximize the business development of hospital services, generate appropriate referrals and assist in converting referrals to admissions.

The candidate selected will be responsible for the following:

  1. Demonstrates an understanding of the features and benefits of the hospitals’ programs and organization.

  2. Demonstrates professional selling skills and understanding of the sales process.

  3. Demonstrates a knowledgeable and working understanding of sales territory and target market.

  4. Fulfills responsibilities to the hospital and adherence to philosophy and general policy.

  5. Ability to present to groups.

  6. Proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook.

  7. Strong desire and passion for sales & healthcare.

  8. Meets or exceeds sales goals.

  9. Builds relationships and influence physicians, case managers, social workers, etc.

  10. Daily travel required to include overnight and air travel.

Job Requirements

The following are the job requirements for the Business Development Liaison position:

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Heath Administration, Business Development, Human Services or Nursing.

Requires excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing; ability to work independently with minimum supervision; ability to work well with others; ability to think quickly in times of stress or crisis.  Ability to manage a large territory, travel planning and time management.

Requires a minimum of one year of experience with documented success in sales/marketing in the healthcare industry, or equivalent relative clinical experience.  A Military background is preferred,  a clean driving record is required.
