Cox Automotive is seeking a Compensation Manager to join our team in Atlanta, GA or Lake Success, NY.

Summary:

The Compensation Manager plays a key role partnering with our Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs) and Recruiting team in the development of positions and building compensation recommendations.  You will be responsible for providing strategic compensation consulting support for a specified client group(s) under the Cox Automotive umbrella of companies.   This includes planning, developing, modeling and implementing programs and procedures for your clients, as well as managing company-wide projects and/or programs. Responsibilities:

  • Partner with HRBPs and leadership to support business compensation initiatives, reorganizations, communications, and strategy.  This includes attending HRBP and business leadership meetings
  • Research and recommend reward solutions that are aligned with the overall business needs, balancing external market competitive data, internal team member preferences, and financial impacts 
  • Develop and implement policy, process, structure, guidelines and programs for Compensation across the organization 
  • Perform analytical studies in a variety of compensation areas, such as internal and external equity, competitive pay practices, incentive compensation and emerging trends.  Recommend policy and/or program changes
  • Assist in the build and maintenance of job leveling and pay structures and provide recommendations
  • Utilize compensation surveys to determine compensation trends and make recommendations to support team member engagement and retention strategies.  Benchmark positions for evaluation against market
  • Conduct job analysis and review job descriptions for appropriateness and confirmation of FLSA classifications
  • Develop and drive metrics to assess compensation program effectiveness
  • Ensure compensation programs, practices and policies comply with local, state and federal laws.  Maintain up-to-date knowledge of both federal and state wage and hour laws including FLSA 
  • May lead or participate on special compensation projects
  • Provide coaching / mentoring to more junior level team members


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, finance, business or other related field or equivalent and relevant work experience required
  • 7+years of progressive experience with compensation preferably in a high-growth, fast-paced organization
  • Effective consulting approach to serving internal clients, exceptional communication skills and demonstrated relationship management experience
  • Strong knowledge of compensation programs, tools, and best practices
  • Proven ability to gauge effectiveness of the organization’s compensation programs and translate data into solutions to continually improve programs and practices.  Superior analytical skills and ability to effectively translate data into actionable insights, strategies and financial plans
  • Proven experience running highly visible, company-wide projects or programs
  • Advanced skill and knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including formal presentations, and proven experience communicating and presenting to all levels of management, including senior executives
  • Knowledge of the Fair Labor Standards Act compliance requirements and other applicable laws
  • Understanding of business strategies, culture and work to achieve results. Able to execute work beyond the scope of their function and provide analysis and advice in non-routine, project-related area

Preferred Skills & Background:
  • CCP or course work toward the CCP
  • Experience with Kenexa CompAnalyst compensation software
  • Experience with PeopleSoft
