Description:

GIM, Inc. Compliance seeks a Compliance Analyst to support PGIM's Public Fixed Income unit in Newark, NJ.  Prudential Fixed Income manages approximately $575 billion in client assets, as of December 31, 2015 spread over 400 distinct portfolios and ranks as one of the largest managers of publicly traded bond assets in the United States.  Prudential Fixed Income is a division of PGIM, Inc., a SEC-registered investment adviser to institutional and retail clients through its specialized asset management units.

 

The Compliance Analyst will be part of the team responsible for ensuring that all portfolios managed by the Fixed Income unit are in compliance with applicable regulatory and contractual requirements. The scope and responsibilities of this position will not be static.  As the business needs and compliance objectives change over time, the responsibilities of this position will be expected to evolve in order to meet the changing deliverables of the department.

 

Responsibilities Include:

 

Portfolio Compliance

 

 Monitor investment activity to ensure compliance with client guidelines, regulatory rules, prospectuses, SAIs and policies and procedures both on an automated and manual basis. Research potential violations and escalate as needed to resolve. Work closely with Portfolio Management, Trading, and Operations to manage trade day alerts through BlackRock Solutions Aladdin application. Prepare client certification and Board Reports as required. Review changes to client guidelines and work with BlackRock Solutions to update Aladdin as needed. Assist in on-boarding and compliance setup for new accounts as needed. Respond to ad hoc requests regarding trading and fund information.

 

Supervision

Provide oversight of daily work functions completed by junior staff members.

Assist with the review of daily work functions completed by junior staff members

Assist with the training of junior staff members.

Train junior staff members on various aspects of the BlackRock Solutions Compliance system and team processes.

 

Team Support

Assist in providing documentation required for audit requests.

Assist in updating Compliance policies and procedures.

Provide support for team projects and initiatives.

 

 


This is a challenging, fast-paced, and deadline-driven position, requiring excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills. The individual needs to take initiative to research and resolve compliance issues that arise.  Qualifications include:

  • Minimum of 4 years working in an Asset Management, Investment Advisor, or Mutual Fund Compliance Department, preferably within the Investment Guideline Monitoring team.
  • Strong knowledge of fixed income instruments.
  • Good working knowledge of derivatives.
  • Advanced educational degree a plus.
  • Experience working with federal securities laws applicable to investment advisers, including the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940.
  • Experience working with other rules and regulations under the Securities Act of 1933, ERISA and UCITS a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Strong information gathering skills with the ability to analyze and draw conclusions from the information gathered.
  • Ability to interface with senior management and business partners.
  • An independent worker who enjoys a fast-paced environment with strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent skills using MS software, especially Excel and BRS(BlackRock Solutions) recommended.
