Sodexo Universities and SodexoMagic is seeking a Concessions Manager 2 at the University at Albany in Albany, NY!  The Concessions Manager will oversee our growing concessions operations within Casey Stadium and SEFCU Arena, catering to students, faculty and VIP clientele.  


The Concessions Manager is a highly visible position and will be responsible for daily contact with students, clients and customers to oversee 2+ concessions stands and a growing concessions program for football, basketball and lacrosse.  This manager will also work with vendors to assist with set up of new concessions units.  Duties include: Maintaining food and labor costs; scheduling; training and managing volunteers/students to operate event day sales; cash handling, balancing end of shift reports; management of special events; HACCP/Sanitation and cost controls; ordering and stocking concession stands and carts with the proper counts and products; managing and maintaining inventory. Will work with a Supervisor and part-time students. Customer service and client relations/satisfaction are top priorities for this role.  The Concessions Manager must be flexible to work a schedule that consists of nights/evenings/weekends in order to support the business needs within our concessions athletics segment.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Concessions supervisory experience within stadiums/arena venues;
  • Cash handling, product ordering and inventory skills;
  • TIPS/ServSafe Alcohol certification 

In addition, Sodexo provides resident dining, retail dining, summer conferences and catering on campus and the Concessions Manager may assist, or assume responsibilities at other locations on campus as needed.

Position Summary

Provides supervision for food preparation and service operations in a concessions account/unit (i.e., stadiums, amusement parks) to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the Company. Contributes to account revenue and operating profit contribution through cost containment and safety.
Key Duties
-Utilizes Sodexo resources, systems and programs to direct daily operations including; food production, stand inventory, product deliveries, invoices, and procurement operations.
-Directs daily operations in a concessions account/unit to ensure employees, NPO (non-profit organizations) groups and 3rd party vendors (if applicable) have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources to perform their job, and meet goals, cost controls and deadlines as assigned.
-Ensures that concessions area, equipment and storage facilities are sanitary, neat and organized. Drives a Zero Harm mindset by maintaining a safe work environment including both food and physical safety in order to comply with all regulatory and Sodexo standards.
-Complies with budget requirements by controlling costs (i.e. labor, inventory, equipment, materials) and making adjustments when necessary
-Supervises employees, NPO groups and 3rd party vendors by delegating, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring operating standards to ensures that employees demonstrate an active customer hospitality orientation toward customers and clients. 



Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
