Who You’ll Work With


Driven by the commercial and technical vision of the company while interacting with sales leadership, the Consulting Systems Engineer is the technical facade of the company, finding and engaging in new opportunities while also nurturing strong long-term customer relationships. The Consulting Systems Engineer establishes a need for the solution on a technical and to some extent commercial basis, drives discussions around technology at director level and downwards. Conducts and drives architectural and technology workshops, owns and drives proof-of-concept undertakings to influence technical decision makers, conducts training sessions, presentations and writes customer solution documents. Also works with partners to establish solution preference and engage in joint customer calls and partner events, both internal and customer facing. Provides feedback to the product management and sales leadership on improvements and new features based on customer feedback and general market/industry requirements. Working off of a broad-based industry experience covering multiple different technology verticals.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Analyze and understand customer requirements for successfully positioning offered solutions along with the value proposition and unique selling points
  • Display an insight and understanding of current technology challenges and industry developments to aid in conversations with customers
  • Possess expert level skills and knowledge about the product to the point where the individual can singlehandedly bring up a solution from scratch into working order for purposes of demonstrations and Proof-of-concept exercises
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills to manage interactions with customers, partners and other important parties
  • Demonstrate excellent presentation skills and produce content for own and the use of others
  • Work with partners to facilitate technical sales enablement, tender and opportunity assistance and joint sales calls
  • Work in a cross-functional team to engage in network design and network infrastructure analysis to successfully integrate the offered solution into new and existing networking environments
  • Work with the overall sales organization; locally, regionally and globally on opportunity assessments, opportunity development and sales initiatives
  • Lead sales engineering enablement activities to transfer product knowledge to the wider generalist engineering community
  • Keep current on new developments in information technology.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent technical or professional experience related to the design, installation, and maintenance of local and wide area network required.
  • Minimum of ten to twelve years of related work experience, with a minimum of five years of experience installing and maintaining local and wide area networks required.
  • Documentable knowledge of local and wide area networks; computer software and hardware; knowledge of data communications, network planning and analysis; and vendor evaluations. Strong analytical skills and effective interpersonal and communication skills to interact with a wide range of individuals at different levels in an organization. Ability to address technical or sales related problems in a timely manner.
