Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center (VBPC) is a 100-bed freestanding hospital offering acute psychiatric and substance abuse services for adults 18 years and older. The hospital is accessible 24 hours a day for admissions, and includes mental health assessments and referral network. Treatment programs and specialty services at VBPC include substance abuse, dual diagnosis/rapid stabilization and partial hospitalization.

Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center currently has a 
Full-Time (1.0) Cook position available. The candidate selected will be responsible for the following:
·         Prepares food for meals and special functions.
·         Prepares patient/staff trays and salad/dessert bars.
·         Serves food to patients, staff and guests.
·         Performs cleaning, stocking, maintenance, sanitation and trash removal as assigned.
·         Works in a team environment to ensure the successful daily operation and maintenance of the kitchen, serving line, cafeteria and dishwashing areas.
The following are the job requirements for the Full-Time (1.0) Cook position:
·         High School graduate, GED or equivalent experience. 
·         Food Service Manager certification preferred.
·         One or more years of professional cooking experience required; institutional cooking experience preferred.
·         Must possess knowledge of food science, food production, catering, quality and quantity food preparation, sanitation, equipment operation and repair and good oral and written communication skills.
