Position Summary:

Windmoor Healthcare, located in Clearwater Florida is a 144-bed comprehensive behavioral health care facility that provides a wide range of inpatient and partial hospitalization programs and services. Our facility has been providing intensive treatment of dual diagnosis issues and the comprehensive approach is highly individualized, designed to guide patients and their families through the process of intervention, assessment and treatment. We are currently seeking a COOK - per diem (would work various hours and shifts as needed) to join our team.

The candidate selected will be responsible for the following:

• Preparation of entrees, vegetables, and desserts for both patients and staff.
• Must be able to read, convert, and adjust mathematical measurements for recipe adjustments.
• Maintain the safety and sanitation of the work are
• Will follow the direction of the Dietician and assist in recipe development
• Will assist the Director in the preparation of special employee and/or catering functions.
• Additional duties as assigned the Director of Food Services/Supervisor and/or Lead Cook
This position will be a PRN or “work as needed”. More hours are available depending on flexibility and patient census. .

 
Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or its equivalent.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in cooking with basic knowledge of modified diets in a psychiatric facility is required, Experience in serving principles, training in food services sanitation, experience utilizing industrial kitchen equipment and utensils and some prior kitchen supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge of basic therapeutic diets, food portions, waste control, and food service sanitation. Knowledge of industrial kitchen operations and procedures, basic equipment repairs and adjustments, industrial equipment and utensils, and skilled in utilizing such.
