What You'll Do

As a transactional attorney for the Cisco Internet-of-Things (IoT) business, you will take responsibility for legal decision-making to help our business continue to scale. You will develop detailed knowledge of our IoT solutions and product offerings, business processes, and go-to-market strategies around the world, and support our sales, engineering, and product teams at all stages of the product/offer life cycle. You be become one of our attorneys, who are a tight-knit members of the team, and forming relationships throughout the Cisco IoT organization and Cisco legal is key to our success, and to keeping things fun.

Who You'll Work With

You will work with the Cisco IoT Legal Team, providing support for the global leader in IoT platforms, with over 15,000 deployments across more than twenty vertical markets, including automotive, connected home, and manufacturing. In partnership with over 50 mobile operators, you will enable enterprise customers to deploy and monetize IoT services across the globe.

Who You Are

You are a smart, fun, solutions-driven and talented attorney with software licensing experience who wants to join our team as Corporate Counsel. You have a keen business focus, are dedicated, pragmatic, and highly collaborative. You have excellent social, communication, negotiation and drafting skills, the ability to synthesize complex issues, and influence and lead across functions.

Our minimum requirements for this role:

  • 2-4 years of relevant legal, in-house and/or law firm experience
  • Ability to understand complex contractual issues, assess risk, and provide concise, plain English, business-focused legal advice
  • Extensive background in software licensing (SaaS experience a plus), commercial transactions, negotiating and drafting agreements, and intellectual property
  • Experience advising clients on a broad range of legal and contractual issues impacting business transactions, with a track record of building business relationships and gaining trust of internal clients
  • Excellent judgment and the experience to craft creative solutions
  • Strong organizational skills and know how to prioritize and lead several simultaneous projects under deadline pressure; ability to self-start and lead projects
  • Experience working across multiple internal business organizations (eg. Finance, Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Operations, etc.)
