Arbour Hospital, a 118 bed (106 Adult/12 Adolescent) private psychiatric facility located in Boston’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood; the hospital also manages an 18 bed satellite adult psychiatric unit in Quincy. Arbour Hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission and licensed by the MA Department of Mental Health. Arbour Hospital is currently seeking a Correspondence Clerk. This position performs the following functions in accordance with Hospital procedures and industry standards and regulation. This is a part-time position, Tues-Fri, 11:30-4:30 Description: 1.. Screens various requests, both written and oral for appropriateness, referring non-medical record requests to the correct department in a high percentage (95%) of the time. 2. Answers appropriate stat requests for information or takes action on them within one working day of receipt. 3. Prior to release, verifies that the request is valid and does not violate any confidentiality rules, policies or laws. In order to meet the performance standard no unauthorized release is acceptable. 4. When patient information is available and authorization standards have been met will photocopy and mail the documentation within ten business days. 5. Maintains an up-to-date log of all information released. 6. Assists patients and staff by answering routine questions about confidentiality policies and requirements. Routine means ninety percent of the time. More difficult questions should be referred to your supervisor. 7. Serves as resource on medical-legal issues. 8. Files, Sorts, Scans documentation. 9. Accepts and completes special projects as requested by supervisor 10. Meets hospital attendance policy 11. Meets published standards of punctuality
