The Crisis Specialist position is a great opportunity for licensed or licensed-eligible clinicians (LMHP-S, LMHP-R or Certified Pre-Screener) to make a significant impact with a diverse population of individuals who are in need of immediate mental health/behavioral interventions.

This position provides an always exciting, fast-paced and supportive team environment that will help you expand your clinical skills while providing free licensure supervision.

Serves as a positive role model for children/adolescents and adults to observe and learn socially effective values, attitudes and behaviors, and contributes to formulation and implementation of the treatment plan. Provides individualized services to include medication education, teaching daily living skills, enhances social and interpersonal skills. Travels throughout the community to provide mental health services in the home and to act as a community liaison.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides a variety services including: 24-hour on-call support, face-to-face crisis de-escalation, scheduled sessions prevent potential crisis level situations/behaviors as well as collaborating with providers in the individual’s support system when appropriate.

  • Expected to collaborate with other mental health professionals, law enforcement officers, local hospitals and medical providers in the planning, provision, and evaluation of these services.

  • Participates in clinical staff conferences to ensure the smooth transition of clients into or between various aspects of the FHC service delivery system.

  • Receives on-going supervision from the Crisis Team Supervisor and Mental Health Program Director

  • Provides support, education, and service coordination to members of the individual’s support system.

  • Required participation in weekly crisis team meetings.

  • Produces and maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation consistent with agency policies and procedures.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor which are consistent with the position and in compliance with agency policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a Master’s degree in social work, clinical psychology, counseling or a closely related field
  • Must be currently licensed (LMHP) or license eligible (LMHP-Supervisee in Social Work or LMHP-Resident in Counseling) or a Certified Pre-Screener
  • At least 1 year of clinical field experience with special consideration for experience in crisis intervention/stabilization, acute or residential hospital setting and/or community-based services
  • Must be able to transport/drive and provide own transportation as necessary.
  • Individual will be required to obtain additional agency training following employment.
