The Category Manager is responsible for executing the overall short and long term sales strategy for assigned categories. Responsibilities include working in conjunction with Product Marketing, New Program Development, and Merchandising to drive sales for assigned Crown Bolt product category. Includes building and maintaining customer relationships, marketing products, developing product line strategies and reporting financial results to leadership.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
30% - Customer Relationship Management: Collaborate with THD merchants to support overall department strategy and work to improve all aspects of the relationship. May serve as a key contributor on various other projects.
20% - Serve as a subject matter expert and perform research and/or analysis within assigned categories.
20% - Merchandising Execution: Develops merchandising strategy to understand key business drivers (e.g. historical performance, industry/ competitive landscape, consumer segmentation) May serve as a key contributor on various key projects within a business function.
15% - Assortment Selection: Executes the business review of category/ categories on a regular basis; determining changes to product mix to better optimize assortment and drive innovation.
10% - Perform various administrative and tactical duties for merchandising category including SKU maintenance, Product Buybacks, Plan O Gram updates, and Store/SKU reporting
5% - Perform ad hoc reporting based on the business needs and extract the proper data from THD systems. This may include multi-tasking by working on 2 to 4 projects simultaneously

This position reports to Director of Sales.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
Additional Environmental Job Requirements:
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Additional Minimum Qualifications:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 4 years
Most of the time is spent sitting or standing in the same location or there may be a need to stoop regularly or move/lift light material or equipment (typically less than 8 pounds).
Understanding of market trends, merchandising, display development and management, and program profitability analysis.
Understanding of requirements of doing business with customer, including all aspects of business, operations, finance, credit and distribution.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Specialized with Excel
