Job Details

The Customer Operations Systems Analyst is a member of the Customer Operations Team in the U.S. Trade Group providing platform support for the Innovative Heath and Essential Health business units. The team plays a critical role in ensuring that appropriate amounts of inventory are shipped to optimize the availability of Pfizer products and ensure the integrity of quarterly revenue. The team is responsible for wholesaler order and inventory management across hundreds of NDCs in the U.S. market. The team is also responsible for the measurement and successful achievement of a wide variety of complex Distribution Service Agreement (DSA) contracts.

The position requires a blend of strong analytical and technical capabilities, solid business awareness, and process development expertise. The position directly manages the underlying technology infrastructure utilized by the team, ensures the accuracy of the data, supports execution of quarterly DSA metrics and associated debits/credits, and assists with ongoing system and business process development efforts. The position requires extensive use of analytical applications such as Tableau and Microsoft Access, Structured Query Language (SQL), SAP Business Objects, and a variety of relational databases. The Analyst will spend a significant amount of time maintaining various data sets and diagnosing and resolving data and reporting issues. The Analyst will work directly with external customers, software vendors, consultants, Customer Service, Account Management, Finance, and Information Technology.


+ Reporting and analysis

+ Utilize advanced analytical technology, such as SQL, Toad and Alteryx.

+ Create highly sophisticated ad-hoc reports, standardized reports, and system interfaces as needed to support business requirements.

+ Perform complex analytics and diagnostics on relational business data.

+ Provide subject matter expertise on Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) 852 and 867 transaction data.

+ Work closely with customers' and Pfizer's EDI and technology departments to develop initial EDI 852 & EDI 867 data mapping requirements for new customers as well as data mapping requirements for exchange of non-EDI data on a regular or Ad-hoc basis.

+ Monitor, identify and resolve EDI 852/867 and non-EDI data integrity issues.

+ Actively maintain EDI 867 end-customer master data, consisting of over 300,000 unique records.

+ Perform ongoing master data maintenance activities required for effective order management, DSA execution, and reporting accuracy.

+ Systems and business processes

+ Identify and implement business process improvements.

+ Daily interaction and collaboration with Information Technology and programming groups to translate business requirements into technical specifications.

+ Oversee validation testing and approve programming changes.

+ Distribution Service Agreement contracts

+ Support the weekly and quarterly reporting process to ensure timely and accurate creation of all brand pharma and generic injectables contract metrics workbooks within a tight contractual time limit.

+ Ensure accurate submission of applicable quarterly credits/debits through relational databases and SAP.

+ Ensure the process is executed in compliance with all Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.


+ Bachelor's degree required.

+ At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in programming and/or business analysis required.

+ Experience and technical expertise in relational database software and applications.

+ Experience with EDI 852 and EDI 867 data.

+ Experience in SAP Business Intelligence / Business Objects reporting.

+ Knowledge of supply chain management, vendor managed inventory (VMI) principles.
