**Role Description**

The Medical Outcomes Specialist (MOS) - Special Projects will provide both consultative and direct customer and Field Based Medical (FBM) support and leadership to assess, develop, and implement complex, collaborative projects across the US. Examples include creating new paths within Pfizer to manage complex projects, leading complex studies and providing hands on market and customer consultation and direct support with non-interventional research. Working and demonstrating representation and agency for MOS leadership when working cross-functionally and interacting with multiple HQ stakeholders including but not limited to Medical Affairs, Outcomes & Evidence, Real World analytics, biostatistics, legal, regulatory, Epidemiology and commercial colleagues to achieve project success. This colleague also would provide organizational support for key account teams considering projects as well as serve on the US Intake Committee or similar review committees. Participation and leadership of initiatives in MOS Product Support Teams and Health Technology Assessment Committees also would be required. This role would report to the North American PIH MOS Lead and serve as an extended member of the MOS Leadership Team (LT). Additional high profile and business critical projects for the FBM organization could be assigned as needed.


+ Maintains excellent working relationships with other FBM leaders across the Pfizer organization. Serves as extended member of the MOS Leadership team.

+ Works with MOS and customers on complex projects, including Non-Interventional studies and from project inception through publication if needed

+ Advises field account team colleagues on project direction (MOS, Field Medical Directors (FMDs), Key Account Managers (KAMs), Account Managers (AMs) and Regional Customer Marketers (RCMs)

+ Maintains excellent cross-functional working relationships and management representation and agency with relevant HQ colleagues to advance projects (legal/contracting, medical, O&E, statistics, regulatory, brand commercial)

+ Manages project budgets for collaborative research projects within Pfizer systems

+ Provides FBM support and commercial guidance with questions for Head Quarter (HQ)-initiated or customer-initiated collaborative research projects including leading initial FBM assessment, triaging opportunities for PST or HQ review, assessing organization capabilities and feasibility, and providing both the clinical and business relevance to proposed protocol methodology.

+ Advises FBM LT on external and internal challenges, market dynamics and needs in complex collaborations to drive organizational change.

+ Creates processes within assigned teams to drive change and efficiency in FBM projects.

+ Serves as one of the Medical Representatives on the Intake Committee

+ Provides FBM consultation as requested by MOS or MOS leadership including assessment of an integrated market account opportunity, recommendations for use of FBM resources including standard or modified HOPEs, or direct support with customer needs assessment, data analysis, or other MOS support deemed appropriate based on customer priority.

+ Facilitates medically-led project management activities to support national or regional customer initiatives as assigned by Medical Lead or FBM Medical Affairs LT

+ Works collaboratively with the National Account MOS team to identify opportunities for FBM collaboration between health care market stakeholders including Integrated Delivery Networks, Medical Groups, national Health Plans and PBMs, and influential self-insured employer clients

+ Works toward development of innovative FBM solutions of value to Pfizer and to our customers including a focus on the value of health services-not the cost or quality alone

+ Works collaboratively with HQ Marketing teams, customer marketing and other HQ colleagues to guide or develop FBM strategies and solutions

+ Collaborate with Product SupportTeams (PSTs,) brand or asset teams to identify FBM customer collaboration opportunities that align with product strategies to maximize business impact and customer satisfaction

+ Serves on PSTs and HTAC (Health Technology Assessment Committees)

+ Facilitates the Head Quarters medical/customer interaction and insure the incorporation of clinical, outcomes research, and health policy information in order necessary to meet the medical information needs of the customer

+ Ability to travel up to 30% which includes overnight travel; must have a valid, USDriver's License. Must meet and comply with all Corporate Travel and Fleetrequirements, policies and procedures as applicable.

Maintain excellent working knowledge of disease area(s) and Pfizer products in order to

provide context for functional and technical excellence in collaboration with other

medical and commercial colleagues/groups within Pfizer as well as priority customers

Ensure that customer insights are shared with relevant leadership to assist in informing

future field based medical strategy

Serve on assigned Product Support Teams (PSTs) and Health Trends and Channels Teams (HTACs)

Contribute to an engaged and effective work environment

Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures for reporting activities, impacts and

Unsolicited Medical Request (UMR) entries.

Work within Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Corporate Integrity Agreement

(CIA) guidelines


+ Possesses an advance degree, MD, PhD or PharmD preferred

+ Graduated from a US accredited Healthcare program

+ A minimum of 10 years experience with at least 5 years of healthcare experience and at least 5 years of pharmaceutical experience. Field Medical Experience Strongly Preferred.

+ Residency, clinical and/or management experience preferred

+ Data analytics and or Outcomes Research experience strongly preferred

+ Strong communication and negotiation skills strongly preferred
