Description The candidate will provide support in security control assessment and continuous monitoring of the organization(s) information systems following NIST based standards and best practices. The candidate will provide various levels of Cyber Security Engineering by developing test plans and assessing or auditing information system security controls by applying best practices of NIST 800-37, 800-53, 800-53A, and Judiciary guidance. The individual will ensure compliance and identify security weaknesses and vulnerabilities using approved tools (e.g. Cyber Security Assessment and Management (CSAM)). The individual will review and analyze scanning results and provide recommendations concerning vulnerability mitigation efforts.

+ Analyze and advise tool(s) role(s) focusing on security in the early stages of the SDLC which will also include working with security teams to ensure that projects are deployed and launched securely and effectively.

+ Review system security plan body of evidence documentation for accuracy and completeness.

+ Support development of Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) containing corrective actions required for unacceptable system and enterprise level risks.

+ Provide support to configuration management and control processes to integrate security and risk management.

+ Work with application project teams for all development of systems including web and database management systems (beginning in the early stages of the SDLC) to ensure that security policies, standards, best practices and guidelines are adhered to for all the projects

+ Recommend security impact analyses of security controls based on proposed system changes.

+ Support the preparation of security test plans, execute and assess the security control effectiveness using security control test procedures, and create Security Assessment Reports (SAR) based on assessment findings.

+ Understand and demonstrate security application architecture design assessment and gap analysis producing a security assessment report that is socialized with the project teams and the business.

+ Utilize tools and methodologies for tracking and reporting on identified information system vulnerabilities.

+ Understand and demonstrate technical background, security and risk assessments, CSAM, and applications development and deployment.

+ Understand and demonstrate excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

Required Clearance: Public Trust type background check with finger-printing and drug screening
