Job Description

The position is responsible for detecting and assessing cyber security threats and incidents across PepsiCos environment. The Incident Response (IR) Senior Analyst works among a team of skilled analysts in the Cyber Fusion Center (CFC) to address complex or difficult problems as needed. Responsible for monitoring and researching emerging security threats, analyzing their potential impact, analyzing their attack vectors, identifying root cause and providing incident response management and as a first point of escalation for other GTMR team members.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Respond to threats and security events to assess their impact and assign a risk classification within the IR ticketing system ;
  • Handles critical severity incidents and takes ownership for the delivery of highest quality Incident Response service;
  • Perform the activities necessary for the immediate, short-term resolution of incidents, allowing internal or external customers to resume work as rapidly as possible following a service interruption
  • Collaborate with other team members and subject area experts from inside and outside the CFC on Security threat-related issues
  • Take proactive action to determine the organizations risk or exposure to identified threats which emerge from weekly and monthly IR reports and trending
  • Proactively research and monitor security related information sources, both public and private
  • Provide remediation recommendations, escalation, root cause analysis and other incident response activities in the view of continuous improvement
  • Provide specialized skills and knowledge of a particular domain (technical, business, and / or application) that helps to ensure rapid resolution of security incidents
  • Assists intrusion remediation and provides recommendations in regards to strategy development and implementation, partnering with other Information Security teams
  • Performs additional analysis of escalations from Response Analysts and conduct case review
  • Identifies and develops workflow automation to lower response time and eliminate lengthy procedures
  • Document analysis and resolution activities for the incident ticket
  • Provides onboarding training and coaching to for lower-level IR Analysts


  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
  • 5+ years of work experience in information security, especially in an Information operations / incident role
  • Solid customer orientation with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of organization structure and the business-to-customer relationships
  • Domain-specific technical expertise
  • Ability to deal with the stress of diverging interests within the same immediate time frame
  • Methodical and creative approach to problem-solving
  • Proven experience performing analysis of security events to determine root cause and provide resolution
  • Previous experience in troubleshooting day-to-day operational processes such as report generation, data verification, data correlation, etc.
  • Certification in security such as Splunk, SANS GIAC, CISSP, CISM, CEH etc.
  • Strong working knowledge of security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, A/V, anti-spam, content management, server and network device hardening, etc.
