Description:
The Data Desk Analyst is within the Data and Reporting COE. Responsible for performing a variety of analytical functions associated with client reporting and ad hoc data requests for Defined Contribution, Defined Benefit, and Non Qualified plans.
 
Specific responsibilities include:
 
  • Understand and fulfill data and mail file requests by using a variety of reports (e.g. Plan Sponsor Web, Metrix, Discoverer, Cognos) and techniques (e.g. pivot summary, vlookups) to summarize and present solutions for simple & complex activities.
  • Service Plan or Prudential Book of Business data points that do not appear in RS Presentations, and/or require multiple reports from our systems to arrive at solution for the request or across the Prudential Book of Business through reports and queries.
  • Prepare quarterly investment and plan demographic reports for our clients within established timelines and quality measures.
  • Process and support external financial advisor requests
  • Partner with internal and external teams to create effective and efficient processes
  • Acquire deep knowledge of data and system flows, and drive efficient and effective changes for better controls and reporting
  • Raise issues, ideas to solve issues, and implement solutions with appropriate collaboration with others; at higher level consistently initiates process improvement ideas and subsequently takes ownership and implements those improvements
  • May lead projects within the team and/or with client-facing partners
  • At higher level, processes more complex cases including those that require significant manual manipulation/calculation
 

 

  • 3 - 5 years of Defined Contribution, Defined Benefit, Non-Qualified Retirement Industry, and/or related field.
  • High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel: v-look-ups, pivot tables, manipulating data from multiple sources.)
  • High degree of proficiency in Non Qualified recordkeeping sources (Metrix, Discoverer, PSC) preferred
  • Strong leadership skills including ability to assist with maintaining high team climate and fostering change
  • Demonstrates strong initiative and willingness to improve technical expertise and leadership competencies
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment with strong time management and multi-tasking
  • Shows initiative and is results oriented
  • Strong/excellent communication (i.e. listening, verbal, written) skills and ability to foster relationships with internal and external partners
  • Ability to negotiate conflict 
  • Strong attention to detail
  • May coach/mentor less experience associates
