Description:
This position is within the Full Service Solutions (FSS) department of Prudential Retirement.
The Data Manager is responsible for the successful on-boarding Data and implementation of Data Strategy for new FSS clients, existing plan reviews, merger & acquisition activity, and the implementation of changes to plan and service offerings for existing FSS clients. This role serves as the point person/project manager for internal resources as well as clients and intermediaries as it relates to data.
 
Responsible for the following outcomes:
  • Project manager for standard to mid-level complexity data implementation activities
  • Front line contact for all data related items for the client, prior record-keeper and payroll vendors
  • Strategize with internal and external parties on all plan participant data related items needed for plan activities
  • Ensures data required to deliver elected services is confirmed with the client and tested by internal resources
  • Independently represents Client Transition in prospective client visits, onsite implementation meetings, and existing client meetings clearly articulating our data story and technical capabilities
  • Demonstrate progress through project plans and provides internal and external where applicable
  • Leverage internal resources to develop and implement strategy
  • Assigns tasks to Data Specialist
  • Manage global plan level clean up through the creation and maintenance of a Project Plan, successful identification and resolution to data and/or service issues identified during the review and final agreement from internal stakeholders
  • Subject matter expert lead/support on outside activities & escalations (OCC, SOUP, Rush cases, project, etc)
  • Identify and implement process/procedure improvements as well as Champion efforts on behalf of organization
  • Support new associate training at all levels including formal/informal training along with acting as a mentor when needed; ability to identify and address skill gaps
  • Assignment oversight with strong ability to prioritize and work under tight deadlines 
  • Supports and/or delegates projects/research request on top of BAU work. This could include owning/leading projects
  • Approve checklists / procedure changes
  • Project manage improvements and efficiencies

  • 5 of Retirement Industry, and/or Financial Services experience required
  • Works well independently and in team setting
  • Demonstrates strong initiative and willingness to improve technical expertise
  • Able to develop a cohesive set of solutions in complex, high volume, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong leadership skills with keen ability to motivate others, build team climate, fostering change and negotiate internal/external conflict
  • Ability to consistently exceed quality and production standards and adhere to standard operating procedures
  • Ability to prioritize and manage tight deadlines and multiple touch points over a period of time for multiple events
  • Strong knowledge of Prudential Retirement Services product offering or related industry products and services
  • Strong communication skills and ability to foster relationships with internal and external partners
  • Ability to create data strategies that result in optimal outcomes
  • Demonstrate ability to lead a project team and provide guidance and leadership to help achieve team goals
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced, changing environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Shows initiative and is results oriented
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Prefer college degree, or equivalent customer/client service and operation experience in a fastpaced financial environment
