Position Summary:

This position is responsible for patient charge entry into EMR system; responsible for uploading patient charges to in an efficient and timely manner.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

Responsible for patient charge entries into EMR system
Accountable for the uploading patient charges in a timely manner.
Verifies necessary information and records in the EMR system.
Uses computer system to generate information necessary for billing.
Updates patient information, collects co-pays, provides any necessary forms needing completion, obtain’s signatures as necessary.
Maintains clean, orderly waiting area, coordinate patient movement, reports problems or irregularies.
Supplements office staff as reception tasks permit.
Attends meetings as required.

Job Requirements

::

Qualifications & Specifications:

Education – High School diploma or GED
Licensure & Certifications – None required
Experience – Minimum three year work experience in customer service setting, preferably six months receptionist experience in health care setting and experience with office equipment.
Essential Skills – Knowledge of business office procedures.  Knowledge of medical terminology and coding.  Skill in answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner and using a multi-line telephone system.  Word processing experience and skill in operating a computer and copy machine.
Essential Physical Requirements – Work may require hand dexterity for telephone and office machine operation, stooping and bending to files and supplies, sitting for extended periods of time.  Manual dexterity for using a calculator and computer keyboard.
Working Conditions – Work is performed in an office environment.  Involves frequent telephone contact with patients.  Work may be stressful at times.  Interaction with others is constant and interruptive.  Contact involves dealing with sick people.
