Job Description

The demand planning department is responsible for creating and managing the demand forecasts of our customers so that we consistently and accurately predict their orders. In this position you will report the Demand Planning Manager NL. You will be part of the Customer Service & Logistics Department with a strong link with Sales, Finance, Marketing, HR and BIS departments. The role requires a balance between commercial awareness, supply chain acumen and interpersonal skills.


  • Create and manage the demand forecasts of the Netherlands customers in JDA/Manugistics so that customer orders can be consistently and accurately predicted;
  • Manage the delivery of AOP volumes of MU NL:
    • Manage the demand planning process (incl. NPD) and actively contribute to building the companywide shared iS&OP short and long term forecast;
    • Key supporter and lead of the Business Sales & Operations processes incl. SKU portfolio and optimizing complex planning processes;
    • Monitor and control service level, allocations and due date violations;
    • Key member and point of contact of Category Project Teams.
    • Backup planner for other categories.
  • Coordinate the weekly iS&OP process on account level for all categories with Sales and Finance resulting in a consistent and accurate short term forecast;
  • Apply statistical baseline forecasting for improving the long term forecast;
  • Plan and manage third party supply (Comanufacturing activities):
    • Manage the demand planning process (incl. NPD’s)
    • Identify and initiate improvements for the 3rd party planning process
    • Send forecast, inventory levels and/or requested production quantities produced to Comanufacturer.
    • Enter and change PO’s for to be shipped quantities to local warehouse.
    • Follow up on production planning, produced and shipped quantities.
  • Actively follow up within Benelux team and with BeLux demand planning team on process improvements across the Benelux.
  • Provides options for tactical decisions and clarifies impact on KPIs to proactively drive a balanced decision;
  • Can interpret business developments in other departments to impact on long term planning
  • Manage initiatives to optimize and improve on-shelf stock availability and activity with customers (working closely with Sales and Customer Supply Chain Teams) taking the role as project and process lead;
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders in the CS&L area to manage KPIs of forecast accuracy, service level, freshness and all company’s departments: Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR;
  • Participate in PepsiCo ESSA network meetings / Global Brain to share best practice and processes;
  • Participate and play a leading role from demand planning perspective in the annual Budgeting Process (ACP) on your category;
  • Develop strategies for overall service provision and management of customers (forecasting, service levels, claims, etc…);
  • Integrate Customer Collaboration within Demand planning as a normal way of doing Business with our customers, integrating industry best-practice.
Key Skills/Experience Required
  • Master degree level, preferably in Logistics/Supply Chain Management;
  • <3 years Supply Chain experience in preferable FMCG;
  • Previous employment as demand planner in FMCG or preferable food environment an advantage;
  • Experience with working in a professional planning tool (SAP APO, Manugistics, FuturMaster or like)
  • Knowledge of retail supply chains
  • Language skills: excellent knowledge of Dutch with good knowledge of English
