SPNAC (Service Provider Network Automation Center) Group

The goal of SPNAC  is to create cutting-edge Network Automation solutions, to help Service Providers eliminate their pain points, in planning and managing their networks, and thereby reducing the time taken and Opex. This also aligns with Cisco’s strategy of increasing the Software recurring revenue.

The flagship product is ROBOT (Robotic Operations Based On Telemetry):

ROBOT is a software platform, where Streaming Telemetry enables unprecedented levels of visibility into the network and transforms network monitoring into a Big-Data problem. Combined with programmatic models and APIs, it opens up new capabilities like near real-time traffic engineering, fault detection/prediction and automated remediation.

ROBOT has a Message Bus based Pub-Sub architecture. Various services form the core of the ROBOT platform, and integrates with NSO/Tail-F, which brings an efficient network orchestration functionality using Netconf/Yang.

The charter of the group is to develop Applications,  which can use ROBOT services to provide end-to-end workflow to support Customer use cases.
