What You'll Do
The Cryptographic Services team is looking for a highly motivated DevOps engineer to work on our Operations team, providing system administration for Cisco's rapidly growing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and cryptographic services.  You will provide day-to-day support of existing systems and assist in the design and deployment of upgrades and new systems, as well as managing and providing automation for recurring tasks. You will be an escalation point for our Technical Response Center providing 24/7 support to global user base on a rotating duty basis.

Who You'll Work With
We are a centralized group of architects, developers, engineers and project/program managers that specialize in building and delivering cryptographic key and certificate management capabilities to the company, as well as enabling the business to deliver enhanced services to Cisco's end-customers. From SSL to anti-counterfeit to software-signing to information rights management to product licensing, this group of highly talented and passionate individuals provide critical security services across the breadth of Cisco's internal and external functions.

Who You Are
You are an experienced individual with the desire to apply your skills in a highly critical and complex environment and the initiative to quickly learn and apply new skills.  You have hands-on experience administering systems in a Unix/Linux environment and a track record of juggling multiple tasks and initiatives.

At minimum, we require:

  • 5 years of experience administering recent versions of Linux (CentOS, RedHat) operating systems
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, shell, Perl)
  • Ability to troubleshoot OS, application and hardware issues
  • Experience supporting Apache HTTPD and Apache Tomcat
  • Experience with automated configuration and deployment systems such as Ansible and/or Spacewalk
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or other cloud services
  • Experience securing infrastructure (on-premise and cloud)
  • Effective organizational skills to maintain a consistently high standard of operations in a busy environment
  • Ability to work across cultures and timezones
  • US citizenship

Additional skills and experience we would consider a plus:

  • Experience managing NetApp Storage systems
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft operating systems
  • Basic understanding of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) concepts
  • Knowledge of Hardware Security Modules (HSM) and/or Key Management Systems (KMS)
