Job Description

Intermountain Hospital is a 155-bed inpatient psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment hospital located in Boise, Idaho near the foothills of Idaho's dramatic Sawtooth Mountains. The hospital is located on a spacious 10-acre, park-like campus located in central Boise. Intermountain Hospital has been providing quality psychiatric and chemical dependency services to Idaho's Treasure Valley and the western US since 1980.

The Food Service Worker is responsible for the following: assisting with preparing the salad bar, maintaining an adequate supply of beverages, ensuring the cafeteria and dining room remain clean at all times, assisting in the preparation and delivery of patient meals and room supplies, operating the dish machine, recording temps on dish machine log, recording quat concentration ion sanitizing logs, recording food rotation log, cleaning and recording temperatures from the salad bar logs, assisting the cook as required and stocking kitchen necessities on each floor as required.

Job Requirements
  1. Knowledge of basic therapeutic diets.

  2. Knowledge of basic food service sanitation.

  3. Knowledge of food portion and waste control.

  4. Knowledge of industrial kitchens operations and procedures.

  5. Knowledge of industrial equipment and utensil, and skill in utilizing such.

  6. Skill in organizing and prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines.

  7. Skill in telephone etiquette and paging procedures.

  8. Ability to communicate effectively with patients and co-workers.

  9. Ability to adhere to safety policies and procedures.

  10. Ability to use good judgment and to maintain confidentiality of information.

  11. Ability to work as a team player.

  12. Ability to demonstrate tact, resourcefulness, patience and dedication.

  13. Ability to accept direction and adhere to policies and procedures.

  14. Ability to recognize the importance of adapting to the various patient age groups (adolescent, adult and geriatric).
