Parkwood Behavioral Health System has provided behavioral health and chemical dependency services to the Mid-South region since 1987. We are located in DeSoto County, in the uppermost northwest corner of Mississippi and approximately 7 miles south of Memphis.

We offer a full continuum of care that provides treatment options to meet the individual needs of adults, adolescents and children. Parkwood Behavioral Health System includes a 148-bed inpatient acute and residential care facility, as well as partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs.


We are currently seeking a Dietitian to work on a PRN (as needed basis).   The Registered Dietitian is responsible for assessing and supervising the nutritional need of the patients, providing age and developmentally appropriate diet planning and education and assuring quality nutritional care is provided to all patients in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Parkwood Behavioral Health System.

Job Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description.  The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position.  Staff must demonstrate flexibility in providing care to varied populations including adults and dually diagnosed patients.

Education:   Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Master Degree preferred

Experience:   Prefer one year of clinical dietitian experience in a healthcare environment.  Prior work with a mental health population strongly desired.

Licensure/Certification:   Maintain current registration with the American Dietitian Association as a Registered Dietitian

Knowledge:    Prefer knowledge of age appropriate nutritional assessments and screenings, nutritional counseling and education, dietary planning and food and drug interactions.
