The Digital Innovation Senior Project Manager is primarily responsible for executing the strategy and business operations necessary to implement and execute digital innovation projects in the Pfizer Innovation Research Lab (PfIRe Lab). The PfIRe Lab strives to develop and validate novel digital, dynamic, remote monitoring solutions to enable quantification of disease state and impact of treatment on quality of life (QoL). This is a first of its kind and industry-leading mobile/digital technology initiative.

As a key member of a cross-functional matrixed team including clinicians, engineers, scientists and business colleagues, the senior project manager will be accountable for leading the day-to-day operations of the project, including but not limited to managing the budget, timelines and deliverables, interacting with internal stakeholder groups such as business development, procurement, legal, and external vendors. The successful candidate will also be expected to assist in the mentoring of junior colleagues in the group, as well as establishing best practices in project management for the PfIRe Lab. This position requires onsite location in Cambridge, MA.

+ Act as primary point of contact managing all incoming requests pertaining to the project(s)

+ Create statement(s) of work (SOW) and keep updated throughout the project(s).

+ Closely monitor timelines and hold team members accountable to ensure achievement of milestones on schedule and on budget.

+ Provide guidance and mentorship to junior colleagues and team members.

+ Establish best practice project management processes for the PfIRe Lab.

+ Manage logistics related to clinical studies, including but not limited to drafting protocols, IRB approval process, contracting with external partners/vendors, and executing the study.

+ Effectively lead team meetings and presentations to key internal and external stakeholders.

+ Participate in hiring process of future team members.

+ Support the strategic and operational efforts of the PfIRe Lab.

+ Ensure proper documentation, organization and tracking of all material and dates related to project(s) for easy access, retrieval, audit, publications and presentations.

+ Contribute to design and execution of a communication strategy, including publications in peer-reviewed journals.

+ Represent the team at business venues, meeting, conferences, interactions with external and internal stakeholders.


+ BS / MS / MBA with 10+ years project management experience; specific experience managing pharmaceutical/technical/medical devices projects and/or clinical programs strongly preferred.

+ PhD in Scientific Discipline preferred

+ Formal training or certification in Project Management methodologies and approaches.

+ Understanding of the biopharmaceutical environment, drug development process, and/or medical device development.

+ Proven track record of success in operationalizing and executing strategic initiatives.

+ Experience utilizing project management software programs such as MS Project, Planisware, Jira, etc.

+ Experience managing business plans, budgets and timelines.

+ Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

+ Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

+ Entrepreneurial spirit, demonstrating a "can do" attitude and relentless focus to find solution space and deliver success, working on tight timelines and defined budget.
