Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital (LBHH) is a brand new 126 bed inpatient psychiatric hospital opening in the summer of 2018. The facility is a joint venture between Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine and Universal Health Services.


Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine (LG Health/Penn Medicine), a member of the University of Pennsylvania Health System (Penn Medicine), is a 631-licensed bed not-for-profit health system with a comprehensive network of care encompassing Lancaster General Hospital (LGH), Women & Babies Hospital and the Lancaster Rehabilitation Hospital (in partnership with Kindred Healthcare). Our membership in Penn Medicine brings together the strengths of a world-renowned, not-for-profit academic medical center and a nationally recognized, not-for-profit community healthcare system.

Outpatient services are provided at the Downtown Outpatient and Suburban Outpatient Pavilions, along with additional outpatient centers and Express and Urgent Care locations throughout the region. We are seeking a Director of Admissions to join our great team!


Job Summary:


1.             Perform personnel management duties including screening and selection of assessment and referral staff, providing department orientation and training, completing performance evaluations and giving feedback to Human Resources office.


2.             Schedule staffing of the department to ensure adequate coverage.


3.             Maintains Intake Call, assessment and administrative documentation associated with services.


4.             Manage FTE standards and department budget.


5.             Develop and implement policies and procedures for assessments and referrals, ensuring the overall quality of services provided.


6.             Member of the Management Team and other committees as assigned.


7.             Supervises communications staff (receptionists) and provides coverage for switchboard.


8.             Review department policies and procedures and implement Quality Improvement plan.


9.             Consistently engages and interacts with our patients and their families by using the treatment principles of Trauma Responsive Care, as demonstrated by the following:  1.  A basic recognition of the characteristic symptoms resulting from exposure to trauma, 2.  Having an understanding of and sensitivity to the triggers of trauma and trauma re-enactment, 3.  Incorporating relevant skill sets into daily interactions with patients and families, and 4.  Participates in continuing education on Trauma Responsive Care and Recovery.



Job Requirements


Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, mental health or a related field.

A minimum of five years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting desirable.
