Our mental health facility provides safe and effective inpatient treatment to assist individuals in leading more productive and fulfilling lives. The facility is located on a beautiful 14-acre campus in Orlando, Florida, and includes 112 licensed beds.

The Director of Plant Operations will direct and supervise the activity of the Maintenance Department, performing skilled maintenance repair, and construction duties to ensure the safe and efficient operation of hospital buildings, equipment, and hospital grounds. This individual will manage safety-related documentation activities and forwards information to Safety Committee; direct the activity of the Maintenance and Housekeeping Services through their daily activities working with the respective supervisor(s); conduct the day to day operations and ensure that compliance, budget, and safety are an on-going process; direct and supervise the activity of the Maintenance Department, performing skilled maintenance repair, and construction duties to ensure the safe and efficient operation of hospital buildings, equipment, and hospital grounds; manage safety-related documentation activities and collaborates with Safety Committee.  University Behavioral Center is currently seeking an Experienced Professional for our Director of Plant Operations.  Candidates must possess hospital plant operations and safety experience.   Minimum of two years Hospital Plant Operations management.  General knowledge of fire safety, life management, utilities management and disaster preparedness. Successful survey results with JCAHO, ACHA, OSHA experience required.  University Behavioral Center has been a leading regional provider of intensive residential and acute mental health services to severely troubled youth and adults for over 20 years.

Job Requirements

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management or closely related field preferred.
Licensure:  Current FL Drivers License with a good driving record as verified by the Texas Department of Public Safety required.  General Contractor or Certified Healthcare Engineer (CHE) Certification desirable.
Experience: Minimum of five years’ experience working as a Director or Manager of a facility Plant Operations or similar functions.  Previous hospital experience strongly preferred.  Knowledge of State, Federal, JCAHO, OSHA and other regulatory standards.
